We lost our main venue of 37yrs at APS due to the pandemic. We have since found suitable venues to replace APS within Haringey – Hornsey School for Girls and Coldfall Primary School.

Session Prices

Kingfisher is a small non-profit company (limited by guarantee) and we operate on a shoestring budget.

Since returning after Covid we have raised prices in order to keep groups very small. We intend to continue to have no more than 6 in a group, occasionally we may have one or two more but we also have the backing of one or two assistants in each group in order for the gymnasts to have many repetitions and do safe and supervised side stations on each piece of equipment. We have found that the gymnast improves much quicker with these in place.

Bookings

Contact us by email or telephone if you wish to book a place for your child. If we do not have spaces we will endeavour to create more sesssions to accommodate.

Session Goals

It is our mission to ensure all gymnasts achieve their own personal goals, and we are here to help them acheive it successfully and safely. Whether it be a forward roll or a double back somersault! We are a team of coaches with a wealth of experience and qualifications. We work the gymnasts on floor skills, trampettes x 3, vault & table vault, beams, inflatable tumble tracks (various sizes, our newest tumble track is 15m long), springboards, uneven bars and air barrels.

Kingfisher Staff

Michelle, the head coach is a level 4 (Regional) Women’s Artistic Coach, Luke is a Level 2 Gymnastics for all Coach currently doing level 3 and Koti is a Level 2 Women’s Artistic Coach. We also have 4 Trainee coaches assisting all of our sessions.

Safety Rules & Measures

We must abide by certain rules imposed by BG regarding Jewellery. Children are not permitted to wear any jewellery whatsoever and will be asked to remove any earrings or items of clothing containing zips. Phones can be brought into the gym but will be asked to leave them in their bucket which is brought into the gym or placed in our container which we keep safely in a cupboard until the end of the session. Nails must be kept to a minimum length for safety for both coaches and gymnasts.

General rules / measures

  • Parents are asked to drop off their children and pick up at the end due to the lack of waiting area.
  • We do not provide changing room facilities so participants must arrive at the venue already wearing their gymnastics clothing (warmer clothing or e.g. onesie over the top is fine).
  • Each participant will be given a bucket when they enter to hold any external clothing / water bottles / other posessions.

Badge Incentive Syllabus

We currently work all Gymnasts on our Badge Incentive Scheme – Badges 1 – 12 on the following equipment:

Bars, Beams, Floor, Inflatable (tumbling), Trampette, Floor, Choreography, Flexibility & Strength. There are approximately 4 – 6 items on each badge that they need to pass with a percentage before being given that award on that piece. Once they are awarded their certificate (free of charge) they can see what percentage they passed – Pass, Merit or Distinction. They can retake the badge if they wish to increase the percentage.
